I’m Marisa, a specialist speech and language therapist with 18 years’ experience. I often work with adults post-stroke and autistic adults. It was my Mum’s stroke at a young age that prompted me to train in this profession, and I know from personal experience how daunting it can be when faced with a condition that changes so many aspects of life for you and your nearest and dearest.

I specialise in supporting people with communication difficulties and swallowing difficulties arising from stroke, dementia, brain injury, and progressive neurological conditions, and I also work with autistic adults. I have level 1 British Sign Language.

I have worked with people from many diverse backgrounds across the country, with a range of communication and/or swallowing difficulties. Please call me or email me via kilburnspeech@gmail.com if you’d like to find out more about my services and to have an informal chat.
