Having worked with children and adults with learning disabilities since 1999, I have extensive experience of assessment and intervention. I have worked in a special school since 2003. I have worked in independent practice since 2013. My specialist interests include functional communication, low tech AAC, challenging behaviour and eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties in children with learning disabilities. I love working with families and am happy to collaborate with teaching staff and other agencies. I am available to work with schools (audit, policy, service delivery, bespoke training around slcn, Total Communication and Eating & Drinking Difficulties). I am available to provide supervision for SLTs working in schools. I have a solid working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice: 0-25 years and am committed to supporting families and schools to better understand children’s slcn, writing functional outcomes and making recommendations about resources, strategies and provision required to meet that need and achieve successful outcomes for children. Do contact me to discuss your requirements; I look forward to hearing from you.
