My 19 years experience has focused on pre-school and primary school children in a variety of settings; health centres, nurseries, language units, hearing support facilities, mainstream schools and the family home. In 2004, I specialised in working with deaf and hearing impaired children, and can use BSL. I am experienced in liaising with other health professionals and caring/teaching staff which is essential to ensure progress and consolidation of skills. I enjoy working directly with parents/carers as our aims can then be functional and apply directly to real-life situations.
In 2014-2016, I worked part time in a secondary school with pupils with specific language impairment such as dyslexia, Aspergers, ASD and ADHD.
From 2016 to present, I have worked with pre school, primary and secondary aged children with a range of speech, language and communication needs. My goals for Therapy are to be functional and also to boost self esteem and well being to ensure the child wants to and enjoys communicating.
