I graduated as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2009 and since then have worked in a range of specialist provisions. I have supported clients from ages 3-23 with a wide spectrum of learning and communication needs. I enjoy working with young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, complex needs and Alternative & Augmentative Communication (AAC) but am not limited to this, having recently undertaken training with the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering to deliver Parent Child Interaction Therapy. I have training and experience in a variety of different therapy approaches and hold certificates for Level 2 in both British Sign Language and Makaton.
I am particularly passionate about developing functional communication skills to support positive wellbeing and confidence. I am fun, friendly and use a range of creative tools (stories, music, props etc) and the child’s personal interests to get them engaged.
I can support your child (and you as a family) flexibly within the family home or their nursery/school/college environment, to provide assessment or therapy (one off blocks of input or ongoing). I will liaise closely with you and any education or health professional to find solutions and strategies that work for your child, with us jointly setting the right goals together, including your child wherever possible. I can offer training and provide resources such as communication books. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.
