I qualified as a Speech & Language Therapist in 2004 from University College London and worked in the NHS for a period of 13 years. I have a wide range of knowledge of communication difficulties gained from working within clinics, pre-schools, children’s centres, mainstream schools, specialist language units and children’s homes. I specialise in the identification and treatment of early communication difficulties in pre-schoolers and children who stammer. In addition to this I have a wealth of experience working with children with a wide range speech, language and communication needs (including Autism and Down Syndrome) in primary school. I combine my Speech and Language Therapy work with being a mum to two young children and am well aware of the importance of fun, practical activities that can be fitted into a busy schedule!
In addition to providing therapy for a range of communication difficulties I am trained in the following specialist approaches:
• Lidcombe Programme for Early Stuttering intervention
• Palin Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (stammering)
• ELKLAN ‘Let’s talk with Under 5’s’
• Picture Exchange Communication System (PECs)
