My Practice covers : specialist treatment of disorders of 1) voice 2) vocal cord dysfunction (VCD) 3)Chronic Cough. ( VCD and Chronic cough are also now commonly known as ILO). 4) Globus, a sensation of throat tightness. Voice disorders may be hoaseness of voice or total or partial voice loss for a variety of reasons including misuse of the voice which may or may not consist of lesions on the vocal cords such as vocal nodules. Chronic cough is where a cough persists despite medical intervention and VCD is where the vocal cords come together at the wrong time making a person seem breathless and as though they are asthmatic. Globus is a frequent sensation of something stuck in the throat
