I am passionate about providing support which is evidence-based, functional, motivating, and is tailored to the unique needs of the child. I believe therapy outcomes should be meaningful, achievable and have a positive impact on your child’s life at home and school.
I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2008 on completing a masters at Newcastle University. I have a wealth of experience working with parents, educational staff and professionals within a multidisciplinary team to support children with speech, language and communication needs at home, nurseries, mainstream schools and special schools.
I have highly specialist skills in working with children with complex needs such as learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Augmentative and Alternative communication needs (signing, symbols, communication book, PECS). I have training in Social Stories, PECS, Intensive Interaction, SCERTS, Attention Autism, Lego-based therapy and Shape coding. I am a specialist in supporting children with speech sound disorders and children with language difficulties or language disorder.
I believe in a holistic approach to assessment and therapy. I will assess your child’s communication strength and needs. I will also consider the impact of your child’s communication needs on their learning, and social emotional well-being.
I offer a personal, flexible service at your home, child’s preschool, nursery or school. I offer specialist assessment, advice, therapy and training for both parents and professionals.
If you would like to talk to me about your child and how I may be able to help, please contact me.
