I qualified as an SLT in 1999 and have since worked in the NHS, Charitable, and independent sector to provide highly specialist clinical support for individuals with a range of complex needs, including LD, Autism, Physical Disability, and acquired cognitive-communication disorders, many living with additional sensory, behavioural, and mental health needs. I have worked across all age-groups, but particularly with young adults in post-16 SEND, and in a range of clinical settings, including educational, vocational, acute, community, domiciliary, and secure forensic services. I am passionate about inter-disciplinary working and pinpointing therapeutic interventions which are personalised, functional and meaningful. I have completed ADOS-2 and ADI-R training, and worked as a Clinical Case Manager for LD &/ Autism (Integrated High Needs Team) as part of NHS England’s Transforming Care Programme. I currently combine Independent SLT work with my role as Clinical Reviewer for NHS England’s Care, Education and Treatment Reviews (CETRs).
